Twitch wants to reignite their company and feel like a logo rebrand would do just that. Below is the original logo Twitch uses.
Here is the original Twitch logo. Twitch wants to spice things up a bit and add more to it to bring more attention to the platform.
Twitch is a popular live streaming service that launched officially on June 6th, 2011. It was
founded by Justin Kan and Emmett Shear, and was a spin-off of Justin.tv. In August of 2014,
Twitch was purchased by Amazon for $970 million.
Twitch gained popularity very fast, as in 2014 it was already considered the fourth largest source
of peak internet traffic in the U.S. The streaming platform was mainly known for video game
live streams, but soon eventually transformed into a diverse platform of variety streams. IRL or
“In Real Life” streams became popular as streamers would record themselves out in a public
setting. This opened up a gateway for a lot of other different kinds of streams that were
soon to come . All of this started the evolution of Twitch which ended up bringing even more
viewership to the platform. By 2015, Twitch had more than 100 million views a month and in
2017 Twitch was the leading streaming service for video games in the U.S. Popular streamers
started to arise on the platform and began signing exclusive deals with Twitch bringing in
millions of users. To this day, Twitch is still one of the most used live streaming services.

The three main competitors of Twitch: YouTube Gaming, Facebook Gaming, and TikTok Live.
YoutubeLive is Twitch’s #1 competitor when it comes to live streaming video games. Youtube
has always been one of the most popular video sharing platforms. In 2015, YouTube came out
with YouTube Gaming. YouTube started signing very popular streamers in exclusive deals,
stealing some from Twitch, immediately making it their top competitor.
Facebook Gaming I would say is Twitch’s second competitor when it comes to streaming video
games. Just like YouTube, Facebook has always been one of the most popular social medias so
of course they have to start a live stream video game service too right? Correct. After seeing the
success of Twitch and YouTube Gaming, and not to mention the evolution of Esports and video
games streaming as a whole, Facebook Gaming was released on June 1st, 2018. They have
managed to sign popular content creators as well into exclusive deals making them a main
competitor in the live streaming market.
TikTok Live is starting to sneak up on Twitch and the other live stream services listed above.
TikTok was created in 2016 after Vine was discontinued. It gained popularity very quickly as one
of the most popular apps to share short and long videos too. Eventually, TikTok incorporated live
streaming within the app and people began to stream video games and other content. Streamers
can be sent “gifts” to be compensated while streaming. The increased popularity of TikTok has
made it a top competitor in the live streaming scene.
